Diamond Engagement Rings Atlanta Ga.

Hey Guys and Girls, It's Krissy, your local jeweler here in Atlanta, Ga. Before you begin the search for your perfect diamond it will be very helpful for you to have an idea of the characteristics that are most important to you. These characteristics are referred to as the Four C's.
Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat.
The more rare a diamonds characteristics, the higher price it will demand.

Cut….refers to the angles and proportions a skilled craftsman creates in transforming a rough diamond into a polished diamond. Diamonds are formed in nature, but it takes a master diamond cutter to reveal its true brilliance, fire, and ultimate beauty. If a diamond is cut, too deep or cut, too shallow, the light will leak through the side or bottom resulting in less brilliance.
Color….diamonds come in many colors with the most popular being white and red being the rarest. Diamonds are graded by the GIA grading scale starting with D and ending with Z. Truly colorless diamonds are very rare and are extremely valuable, yet color is a personal preference so ask your jeweler to show you diamonds with different color grades so that you can compare them side by side and make the best choice for you.
Clarity….refers to light entering the diamond and how it is reflected and refracted out. If a diamond has any inclusions, a proportion of the light will be lost resulting in less brilliance. The number of inclusions determines the degree of brilliance lost.
Carat….is a measure of weight and is often confused with size.

No two diamonds are alike and each of these characterisitics play an important role in a diamonds appearance. This is why you should always see the diamond before you purchase. So, my advice to you…..Never buy a diamond online. Nothing compares to the experience of choosing that perfect diamond among diamonds. Go to a jeweler that you can trust. Educate yourself and know what you are looking for. Take a look at different diamonds with the characteristics that are important to you so that you can make the best decision and choose your perfect diamond.
